Welcome to The Blue Room Journal
A place to pause, reflect, and reconnect.
Here in The Blue Room Journal, I share gentle thoughts, practical tools, and honest reflections on what it means to care for your nervous system, your emotional wellbeing, and yourself.
This isn't a place for quick fixes or prescriptive advice. It's a space to slow down, to explore the quieter questions that don't always get asked in the busy rush of daily life. Whether you're already on a healing journey or simply curious about what support might look like, I hope something here resonates with you.
Take what feels useful. Leave what doesn't. And if something you read sparks a question - I'd love to hear from you.
With warmth, Linda
Kinesiology, an integral part of the healing process
Can a muscle really tell truth from lie? It sounds far-fetched — but in 2016 researchers at the University of Oxford put the idea to the test. Across two blinded, randomised experiments, practitioners using muscle response testing (MRT) distinguished true statements from false ones about 66% of the time — comfortably above chance, and noticeably better than gut instinct alone. Here's what the study found, and what it might mean for how we understand the mind–body connection.

YOGA NIDRA
Yoga Nidra is a simple, guided relaxation practice that calms the nervous system and softens the effects of stress on the mind and body. In just 15–30 minutes it can leave you feeling as rested as a deep sleep — easing anxiety, sharpening focus and helping you meet each day with more ease. Also known as Non-Sleep Deep Rest (NSDR), it's a gentle, zero-cost tool anyone can weave into daily life. Explore the practice below and try one of my favourite guided sessions.
