Counselling that meets you where you are

A calm, supportive space to make sense of what you’re feeling, understand what’s been building, and find a way forward that feels right for you.

Available in Forster & Tuncurry and online across Australia

You don’t need to have the right words

Starting counselling can feel like a big step, especially if you’re not sure where to begin.

You might feel overwhelmed, stuck, or disconnected from yourself. You might know something isn’t working, but not know how to change it.

You don’t need to have everything figured out before you come in.

This is a space where you can speak freely, move at your own pace, and begin to understand what’s really going on beneath the surface.

Support for what you’re going through

Counselling can support you through a wide range of experiences, whether things feel overwhelming or just quietly off balance.

You might be navigating:

  • Stress, anxiety, or ongoing overwhelm

  • Relationship challenges or disconnection

  • Grief, loss, or life changes

  • Low confidence or feeling stuck

  • Emotional exhaustion or burnout

  • A sense of losing yourself or your direction

Each person’s experience is different. Sessions are guided by what matters most to you.

A gentle, structured, and holistic approach

My approach to counselling is grounded, practical, and deeply respectful of your experience.

  • Person-centred

You are always in control of the pace and direction

  • Nervous-system informed

We work with your body’s responses, not against them

  • Holistic

Mind, body and experiences are connected

What Support Looks like

I do not rely on routine worksheets in my therapeutic practice. Rather, my approach is much more adaptable to suit the individual. I consider function from a perspective that is grounded in understanding how the brain operates and how this influences mental health.

I integrate a variety of evidence-based methods to support you, including compassion-focused therapy, mindfulness, and body awareness. This allows you to gain a clearer understanding of yourself and the experiences you are going through.

  • Your first session is about creating a sense of safety and connection.

We begin with a conversation about what has brought you here. You’re invited to share only what feels comfortable — there is no expectation to tell your whole story.

We’ll talk through how I work, answer any questions, and take a moment to settle into the space.

From there, we gently explore what’s feeling most important for you right now. This may include emotional patterns, stress responses, or physical sensations.

The focus is not on fixing everything in one session, but on:

    • Helping your nervous system settle

    • Creating clarity around what’s going on

    • Identifying what feels most important to work on

    • Introducing simple tools to support you between sessions

  • Each session begins with a check-in — how you’ve been feeling, what’s shifted, and what’s coming up for you.

From there, we focus on what feels most relevant in that moment.

Sessions may include conversation, reflection, and practical tools, along with gentle integration of body-based awareness where helpful.

Over time, the work supports you to:

    • Understand your patterns more clearly

    • Respond differently to stress and emotions

    • Feel more grounded and steady in yourself

    • Move forward with greater clarity and confidence

Working with both mind and body

Where appropriate, I blend counselling with kinesiology. This works to find finer distinctions of causative factors. It also helps to facilitate a deeper release of blocks or persistent stress patterns that may be affecting you. This integration helps to detect, address and shift imbalances, offering you the opportunity to experience greater peace and a sense of empowerment in your life.

By supporting both the emotional and physical aspects of stress, change tends to feel more natural, more sustainable, and less overwhelming.
